NEW Pattern-Twisting Steel (Coat Hooks Workshop)

This unique beginner's forging workshop is a fun way to try out the ancient art of blacksmithing while making something totally unique and functional for your home!

In this hands-on course you will learn step-by-step how to twist and turn red-hot steel into your own custom coat hook with a unique pattern! This workshop takes about 2-3 hours to complete and you will be guided through each step by Artist/Blacksmith JenLipski. This is a beginner's workshop, so no experience is necessary (however you must be able to lift and use a hammer)

This class is about more than just twisting metal, in this workshop we are using specific tricks and techniques to create special patterns in the steel. In each session of this class we will focus on creating a specific specialty twist, so every class will make a slightly different design! Once you have finished creating your twist pattern, you will also learn how to forge your metal into a fully functional coat hook to take home

January's Class: Alternating twists! Learn to alternate the direction of your twists to make a special pattern of hypnotic waving lines!

March's Class: My personal favourite! In this class we will break up the lines of our twist to create a swirling pattern of lines and divets in the metal, which look impossible to create!

Private Booking: Groups of 4 or more can arrange a custom workshop date to fit your schedule. Private groups can choose their favourite twist style from any of the options we have taught, and contact us to arrange the details! Each ticket admits one into the workshop (if you are not purchasing tickets together please let us know what group you are joining)
