These unique Celtic inspired cloak pins are perfect for securing Shaws, scarves, blankets, and more! Cloak pins, (also called Tartan pins, Scarf Pins or Shawl pins, Penannular brooches, Viking brooches, or Celtic brooches) were designed to fasten and hold cloaks, Tartans, and other garments securely on the body. Today they remain in fashion as a popular choice to accentuate and fasten scarves, shawls, Tartans, costumes, sweaters, bags, and more, and are also commonly used for survival camping, bushcraft, and tactical purposes
These celtic brooches include your choice of classic or twisted details in the metal and come with a black iron finish, black with silver highlights, or brass-brushed for an antique golden shine
Sizes: Larger pins are recommended for thicker and heavier fabrics, while smaller pins are generally recommended for lightweight fabrics and delicate items such as scarves and shawls
- Small Pins measure approximately 1 - 1.5" in diameter and include an extra-fine pin for delicate fabrics. Small pins are lightweight and crafted from 1/8" thick steel
- Large Pins measure approximately 2" in diameter and are crafted from sturdy 3/16" thick steel. These include a stainless steel pin approximately 1/16" thick and are suitable for most fabrics including loose knit and woven fabrics
- XL Blanket Pins measure approximately 3" in diameter and are crafted from 1/4" thick steel for added strength. Pins are forged from 1/8" thick steel and are not typically as sharp as our smaller pins, these are designed for heavy blankets and large garments
