Private Lessons (Hourly Rate)

Interested in blacksmithing, metalworking, sculpture, or fabrication? Learn a specialized skill, discover the fundamentals of blacksmithing and forge your first pair of tongs, or create a custom project of your own design!

Individualized lessons are available at the studio on an hourly basis for custom projects big and small! Contact us to discuss your ideas and find out how we can help!

In private lessons you will work directly with the artist to learn a new skill or create a custom project of your own design! We offer flexible studio hours with access to a variety of specialized equipment (and individualized training in their use). Custom projects can take anywhere from an hour to several days or weeks, and timeslots can be booked consecutively or split up into separate sessions. (Reduced rates are also available for full day lessons, approximately 8 hours of work plus a break for lunch). These lessons are suitable for beginners and experienced individuals alike who require access to equipment, skills training, or guidance in their project's design

Equipment available for: blacksmithing, MIG welding, plasma cutting (handheld), drilling, sanding, cutting, bending, etc. Some woodworking equipment is also available. Please note that at this time we are not equipped to handle machining (mill/lathe), TIG or acetylene welding, or CNC cutting. The cost for individual lessons is $65 per hour + materials for one person, or $100 per hour + materials for two people (attending together and both creating their own project). Material costs will vary based on your individual project needs. The cost of consumables (welding wire, grinding discs, fuel, etc) is included in the hourly shop fee for most projects. For those attending solo, you may be sharing the studio with another student (if your projects are compatible, allowing both students to work effectively with individualized instruction and access to equipment).
