NEW! Knife-Making 101 (Workshop)
In this workshop you will work hands-on at the forge to learn the basics of knife-making using modern and traditional blacksmithing techniques. During the class you will design and craft your own blade to take home. Perfect for the Forged In Fire enthusiast!
In this full day workshop we will discuss the principals of knife-making, heat treating, and different types of steel, and you will craft your own unique blade from the material provided. You will use the forge as well a variety of hand and power tools to shape and sharpen your new knife, and create a paracord-wrapped handle.
This Workshop differs from the Rebar Knife Workshop in the type of steel and the process used to craft your blade. Both workshops teach a different approach to forging a knife.
More details to follow! This workshop is new and will begin this fall. Spaces are limited.
This class is expected to last approximately 6-8 hours and a small pizza lunch will be provided.
This Workshop requires a significant amount of hammering as well as the use of power tools to craft and shape your blade. Although this is a beginner's level knife workshop, it is highly recommended that you take our Letter Opener Workshop prior to registering for knife-making (unless you have equivalent blacksmithing experience, as this workshop builds upon the skills learned in the letter opener class).
Registering for a specific workshop date guarantees entry into that workshop (spaces are limited)
General Admission: Valid for admission into any public workshop date of your choosing (space-permitting) so you can buy now and choose your date later. Perfect for gift-giving! Advanced notice and priority registration is given to general admission ticket holders when new workshop dates become available
